2011 Fall Round Rock Citizen Gardener Course
New to Gardening?
New to Central Texas?
Want to help "Grow" the Round Rock Gardening Community?
Come learn the basics of organic vegetable gardening in our 10-hour hands-on course. You'll learn how to build a raised bed garden for year-round use in our Central Texas climate. You'll also learn how to build and feed a compost pile, collect rainwater using inexpensive materials, and proper fruit tree planting techniques.
A handbook is included with this course.
Volunteerism is integral part of the Round Rock Citizen Gardener curriculum and the mission of Neighborhood Harvest Project. Upon completion of the course, students will complete ten hours of volunteer service at a local community garden or farm of their choosing, both to enhance their knowledge and to employ their new skills to benefit the community.
After completing both components, participants celebrate their graduation as Round Rock Citizen Gardeners at a local food potluck held twice each year in Round Rock.

*Great class, great cause, great way to meet others. RR really needs some Garden Soul!
*Hands-on is the best aspect - even if you've been reading or researching garden how-to
*Teacher's knowledge & experience is excellent!
*Now I can garden with confidence!
*Makes me want to start a garden today!
*Class is well put together and very imformative - lovely people
*Minimal time investment for a ton of knowledge
*Hands-on group participation was key, particularly for gaining confidence to create your own and get it right!
*Another big benefit is the group aspect - sharing knowledge with others in the class.
