Unity Park Community Garden is now Open!

If you've driven by Unity Park CG lately you will see that it is not as ready as we would have liked to have it by the time Spring planting season rolled around.  We've decided, however, to go ahead and open the garden for you folks that just can't wait to get started!

At this time we do not have access to water at Unity Park so you will need to bring your own from home.  Fortunately, we are in the cooler, wetter months so your plants will probably not need a lot of extra water.  We will be installing a water tank in the garden very soon, and will run spigots from the tank.

Thanks to the wonderful support of our gardeners and members of the local community, all of our fence panels have been sponsored!  We will be installing the remainder of the fencing very soon.  In the meantime, please be aware that there are a few rabbits who occassionally dine in the garden area.

We do not have a tool shed at this time, but are applying for grants for both tools and a shed.  For now, you will need to bring tools from home.

Unity Park Application Packet is posted here.

Please mail your signed application paperwork and payment to Neighborhood Harvest Project, PO Box 5506, Round Rock, TX 78683.  Once we receive your paperwork and payment, we will email you your plot number, then you are free to begin gardening.

Plots will be assigned first-come first-served.

If you know someone who would like to rent a plot, but does not have Internet access, please have them call us at 512-627-7929 and we will mail them an application packet.

We are limiting garden plots to one per household, at least for the first season.

In addition to the plot rental fee, there will be a one-time Membership fee of $20.

All Gardeners will be required to contribute 6 Service Hours each six month season to help maintain Unity Park Community Garden.  The care and maintenance of the garden is the collective responsibility of the community gardeners.  Volunteer hours are submitted here.
